AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT – “GODSPELL”
Presented by Pocket Community Theatre

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin), and it took the world by storm. In Godspell, a small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables using a variety of games, storytelling techniques, and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of song styles, ranging from vaudeville to pop, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances joyously across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
Boasting a score with chart-topping songs and book by a visionary playwright (John-Michael Tebelak), Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences. Whether you’re a longtime musical theatre lover or someone looking to try something new, this is the perfect opportunity to join a fun and welcoming production!

Dates: Sunday, January 4 and Monday, January 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with callbacks on Tuesday, January 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Location: Pocket Community Theatre, 170 Ravine Street, Hot Springs, AR

● Cold readings from the script will be part of the audition.
● Be prepared to learn a brief movement/dance combination.
Looking For:
● A diverse and enthusiastic cast of adults and older teens.
● Strong singers and actors of all experience levels.
● No prior familiarity with Godspell is required — we welcome fresh eyes and new energy
