There’s a Place for You at The Pocket!

The Pocket Community Theatre depends on volunteers to bring the magic of live theatre to our community. Our volunteers bring unique gifts, abilities, interests, and experience to every part of the theatre. Whether you want to step into the spotlight, work behind the scenes, welcome our audiences, or help care for our theatre home, there are many ways to get involved.

No previous community theatre experience is required for many opportunities. Volunteers can choose areas that match their interests and availability, and appropriate orientation and training are provided.

Behind the Scenes

• Stage Crew – Work in the wings, moving sets and props on and off the stage during performances.
• Tech – Help with lighting, sound, and projection.
• Set Construction – Build, paint, and dress the sets that create the world of each production.
• Prop Master – Gather props for a production and set up back stage.
• Small Props – Help organize the theatre’s prop storage.
• Large Props – Find and organize furnishings, rugs, and other larger pieces of set dressing.
• Makeup and Hair – Assist actors with makeup and hair as needed for productions.
• Costumes – Gather, alter, and/or sew costumes for a show.
• Wardrobe – Help organize and care for the theatre’s costume collection.

Keeping the Pocket Running

• General Office Work – Assist with clerical tasks, mailings, and other office needs.
• House and Groundskeeping – Help keep our building and grounds ready to welcome audiences, performers, and volunteers.
