Synopsis
N. Richard Nash's "The Rainmaker" tells of Lizzie Curry, a plain farm woman who has spent her life caring
for a doting father and brothers and is now facing spinsterhood. Enter "The Rainmaker," a con man with
promises to bring rain to the drought-stricken Western state but instead offers romance for a night to
Lizzie. An uplifting story that gets back to the basics of love, trust and the courage to dream-big or small.
From Don Russell, director :
The play takes place during a drought in the West. We discover a girl whose father and two brothers are worried
as much about her becoming an old maid as they are about their dying cattle. The Rainmaker, Starbuck, appears
on the scene, promising rain for a fee. His charm and charisma bring hope for solving all the family's problems.
