The Rainmaker
by N. Richard Nash
Directed by Don Russell
October 2003
Synopsis

Taking place during a drought in the West, N. Richard Nash's "The Rainmaker" tells of Lizzie Curry, a plain farm woman who has spent her life caring for a doting father and brothers and is now facing spinsterhood. Her father and two brothers are worried as much about her becoming an old maid as they are about their dying cattle. Enter Starbuck, "The Rainmaker," a con man with promises to bring rain to the drought-stricken Western state but instead offers romance for a night to Lizzie. His charm and charisma bring hope for solving all the family's problems. An uplifting story that gets back to the basics of love, trust and the courage to dream-big or small.
