Synopsis

From our July 2002 Newsletter :
"Have you heard the songs "Try to Remember" or "Soon It's Gonna Rain"? If your answer is yes, then you are already familiar with "The Fantasticks", the world's longest running theatrical production - it opened in May 1960 at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in New York's Greenwich Village and continued for 42 years until its closing in January 2002.

Don Russell, director, describes the show :
"At first, "The Fantasticks" appears to be just about a boy and girl who live next door to each other; their grumpy fathers, some beautiful songs and comical situations. However, that is not true in this case. "The Fantasticks" is like one big beautiful piece of poetry that has something to say to everyone in the audience. Be prepared to reminisce about your own youth, raising children, even your later years, as each one of the players tell their story. You will be reminded of your dreams and frustrations, hopes and wishes, as the wonderful tale unfolds. The beautiful music you will hear from this talented cast will only enhance your being part of the theatrical, 'spiritual' kind of moment."
