Synopsis
From Samuel French:
Al Lewis and Willie Clark played vaudeville as a team for forty three years, but mutual dislike
has keep them far apart for the last eleven years. Now CBS wants them to appear in History of
Comedy and their reunion sparks delirious comedy.
"It's ham on wry.... Simon's sure footed craftsmanship and his one liners are as exquisitely
apt as ever." N.Y. Post.
"Delicious and oddly affecting." N.Y. Times.
"Another hit for Simon in a shrewdly balanced, splendid and rather touching slice of
the show biz life." N.Y. Daily News.
From the Directors, Don and Jean Russell:
We are excited about The Sunshine Boys. It is our first experience of co-directing a play.
It became necessary when Don decided to do one of the major parts. We have been active in theatre
for many years, but never shared the same responsibility. The Sunshine Boys has always
been oune of our favorite plays and it certainly is one of Neil Simon's funniest. We think
the show will brighten your day.
